Days of Poland Festival at Potters Fields Park in London Bridge

This Sunday the annual celebration of Polish culture Days of Poland Festival is bringing a taste of the country to London. A festival suitable for the whole family to enjoy, this is a a great way to be introduced to traditional and contemporary Polish music, arts and food. For the children, there will be plenty of activities such as face painting, giant bubble shows and competitions. There will also be Polish national dances and live music from prominent Polish musicians. Whether you have Polish heritage and want to celebrate this day, or if you are curious to learn more about the Polish people, this is a great day out for everyone at Potters Fields Park.

Stories #3 at the Hub Coffee House in Kennington

If you enjoy live poetry and story-telling, hop a long to the Hub Coffee House in Kennington this Friday to hear a variety of stories told through word and songs. A great way to hang out with friends and listen to real-life as well as fanstastical stories whilst so have a drink and some tasty food at the same time. The stage is also open to anyone who sees themselves as a budding poet and people will be encouraged to take part on the night. Only £3 on the door this event, all proceeds going to support local projects in the area including the Oasis Centre Food Bank and Debt Advice Centre.

RHS & Flea at Flat Iron Square in Southwark

Flea at Flat Iron Square is teaming up with the Royal Horticultural Society for a bank holiday weekend where plants and vintage clothes with collide. There will be specialist talks from garden designers, foodies and market traders and there will be plenty of stalls selling plants and gardening implements alongside vintage clothing, jewellery and ceramics. This is a fun way to spend your weekend with music, drinks and delicious food from Flat Iron’s food traders as well as learning ways that you can get involved in gardening. The Priory Arms May Bank Holiday Beer Festival in South Lambeth

This weekend a beer festival comes to The Priory Arms on Landsdowne Way. Tour of Houses of Parliament in Westminster

Have you ever wanted to have a nose around the Houses of Parliament? Or perhaps you’re curious to learn more about the building’s history? This spring the Houses of Parliament are offering an educational day out for the whole family with insightful guided tours that will offer a unique combination of one thousand years of history, modern day politics and stunning art and architecture. You will be guided round the House of Lords and House of Commons on this 90 minute tour by an expert ‘Blue Badge’. Highlights of the tour will include Westminster Hall, the Queen’s Robing Room and the Commons Chamber.

Pelleas Ensemble & Phillip Sharp at St John’s Smith Square in Westminster

This Friday evening, pianist Phillip Sharp will be joining the flute, viola and harp trio Pelleas Ensemble at St. John's Smith Square, to perform various pieces of famous music such as Debussy’s Syrinx, George Benjamin’s Shadowlines, Ligeti’s Three Etudes and many more. This is part of the PLG Young Artist’s Spring Series where a carefully selected number of highly talented young artists who are also composers will give imaginative introductions to their new works. An opportunity for these artists to make their mark, the event will be filled with colourful music and lively conversations. If you’re a fan of classical music and are looking for something a little different this weekend, this will be a great night to attend.
