What’s on this weekend: The Velveteen Rabbit, International Pillow Fight day and Robert Rauschenberg

The Velveteen Rabbit at Unicorn Theatre, London Bridge

The Easter holidays have already started for many, so finding something to entertain the children with everyday can sometimes be tricky. The Velveteen Rabbit is the heart-warming story about a very shy toy rabbit who longs for nothing more than to become real. He spends everyday waiting on the nursery floor, watching the boy play with all the other toys and dreaming of the day when he will be picked up and loved. Based on the 1922 classic American tale by Margery Williams, this story has been reimagined by Purni Morell into a magic, charming and adventure-filled adaptation for the Unicorn Stage and is perfect for the whole family. If you've been thinking about looking at properties to rent or buy in the London Bridge area, our office is only moments away.

International Pillow Fight Day at Kennington Park

Did you know that this Saturday is International Pillow Fight Day? Neither did we! International Pillow Fight Day is celebrated in cities across the world with only a few set rules: soft pillows only, don't hit anyone holding a camera, don't hit anyone with their own pillow and no feather pillows allowed. If you're looking for some light hearted fun this weekend and something that won't break the bank, join the hundreds of people that will be meeting together for this special occasion. Expect loud music, lots of shrieking and a flash mob. Only a short walk from our Kennington office, the pillow fight is due to start at 2pm and will last for an hour, so don't be late.

Palisander at St. Johns, Smith Square

As part of their Young Artists' Series, Palisander the recorder quartet, is performing this Sunday at St. John's in Smith Square, just around the corner from our Westminster office. This programme is inspired by the voyages to the New World by Christopher Columbus, Sir Francis Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh. With themes of Renaissance exploration and discovery, the music in this programme is not restricted to a specific time frame and ranges from the works of Thomas Tallis, Vivaldi and Vaughan Williams. Along with many pieces that were originally produced for recorders and pipes, a lot of the arrangements that will be performed have been created by Palisander. Accompanying the music will be illustrations of the men's journeys to the New World.

Robert Rauschenberg at Tate Modern, Southbank

Only a short walk along the Thames from our London Bridge office is the Tate Modern, who are hosting a new exhibition of the celebration of Robert Rauschenberg's extraordinary six-decade career in the modern art movement. Described as a truly remarkable artist, Rauschenberg is famous for incorporating items that he found in the streets of New York. From paintings, to flashing lights and a stuffed Angora goat, there really were no limits to his artistic appetite. One of his drawings even made its way onto the moon. Occupying several rooms at the Tate, each section captures a different part of his journey and is a delight to the senses.

Rachel Maclean: Wot U :) About? at Tate Britain, Millbank

If you've been waiting to see a more contemporary exhibition at Tate Britain, Rachel Maclean's Wot U :-) About? is not to be missed. As part their new series called Art Now, this exhibition portrays a vision of society that is 'at once seductive and nightmarish, exaggerating contemporary preoccupations and behaviours.' Rachel Maclean, who is a young artist from Scotland, has put together a video installation which parodies our obsession with social media and advertising. Most of us will admit that we're addicted to social media, likes, notifications and retweets. In a sparkly and over the top exhibition room, Maclean has created a long, angry, pink and girly attack on social media by masquerading as a broadband advert. Only a very short walk from our Westminster office, drop in if you'd like to view properties to buy or to rent in the area.

The Art of The Brick: DC Super Heroes, Southbank

LEGO® comes to the Southbank. The Art of the Brick brings Super Heroes and Super Villains to life in this contemporary art exhibition by legendary artist Nathan Sawaya. Using nearly two million little bricks to create large-scale sculptures of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker and Harley Quinn to name a few, this exhibition is not to be missed. If you love your Super Heroes or are just a big fan of LEGO® there is something for everyone in this series of immersive galleries. Get ready to inspire your inner Super Hero. If you're interested in viewing properties to rent or to buy in the surrounding area, drop into our Kennington office.
