The Hounslow Youth Concert Band will be performing on the day and no fete would be complete without a group of Morris Men. Taha: Part of Shubback Festival in Lambeth

Brought to life by Amir Nizar Zuabi’s celebrated theatre company ShiberHur, Taha is a dramatic and epic account of Taha Muhammad Ali’s life as a Palestinian poet. When he is forced to leave his home in Galilee along with his family in 1948 due to the realities of war, he immerses himself in literature and turns it into a passion. Growing up in a world without stability, poetry becomes his comfort. This play is part of the festival Shubbak: A Window on Contemporary Arab Culture which takes place in various locations across London in the first two weeks of July. Only a very short bus ride from our Kennington office, drop if you’re keen to find out more about properties to rent or properties to buy in the area!

Art Car Boot Sale in Vauxhall

The Art Car Boot Sale was created in 2004 as a retaliation against the increasing commersialisation of the art market place and was designed to be a place where like-minded artists could go to have have fun displaying their work and barter directly with their audiences. This year the Art Car Boot Sale has moved to the former workshop of the London Fire Brigade, which is also home to Vintage Vauxhall which takes place every month. There will be lots of serious art bargains on offer, plenty of originals and lots of fun to be had at this event as the art-world come together and let their hair down. If you’re keen to get your hands on some amazing one of a kind art at great places, then this will be well worth a visit this Sunday.

Dreamers Awake at White Cube in Bermondsey

White Cube Gallery are presenting a new group show called Dreamers Awake which explores the continuous influence of Surrealism through the work of over fifty female artists. This exhibition will be shaped by many forms including sculpture, painting, collage, photography and drawings starting from the 1930’s and the right up to the present day. There will be artwork on display from various well-known Surrealist figures such as Eileen Agar, Tracy Emin and Tomoko Kashiki as well as younger, more contemporary artists. Only a short journey from our London Bridge office, if you’re interested in looking at properties to rent or properties to buy in the area, drop in and say hello to our team.

Double Double Act at Unicorn Theatre in London Bridge

Coming to the Unicorn Theatre this weekend is Double Double Act, a production created by Made In China. This play that is performed by a mixture of 8 year olds and adults explores questions about how adults and children sometimes overlap each other. What is adulthood really all about? And what sort of things do we both find funny? There are two double acts; the adults against the kids who compete with each other to try and take control of the stage. They joke around, use role reversal and test each other to the limit. This funny, light-hearted, slapstick humour is clever and a surprising performance that allows the audience to see the world through each other’s eyes. It’s a great show to take the whole family to and there’s also plenty of green slime!
