Battersea comes to Pimlico, thanks to new bridge

Plans to create thirteen new bridges across the Thames, from Dartford in the east to Fulham in the west, are likely to create property hotspots۪, according to the ES Homes and Property. At Daniel Cobb we have our eye on the crossing planned between Nine Elms and Pimlico. In November last year, a design by Danish architects, Bystrup, was chosen from 74 entries in a competition held by Wandsworth Council.Although some of the shortlisted designs created controversy, Bystrup۪s simple, slender structure, with spiralling ramps at both ends won favour with the public. It is set to become London's first pedestrian-and-cycle-only bridge, and forms part of a wider 1bn regeneration programme for Nine Elms and Battersea, which includes a new US Embassy and the creation of a new town centre close to Battersea Power Station.Construction of the 40m crossing project will start in 2018. Pimlico& is already a very popular area, due to its central location, quiet streets and magnificent Victorian terraces, but we can۪t rule out the possibility that property prices may rise once the new bridge is in place.

Key regeneration projects and transport improvements are creating new property hotspots ... If you want a good investment as well as a home, it pays to know about thegame-changing transport upgrades planned throughout the capital- from the Northern Line extension andCrossrail, to 13 new Thames crossings.
