Demand for surveys confounds the Brexit pessimists

There are signs that the tide is turning after weeks of doom-laden predictions about the post-Brexit economy. At Daniel Cobb we were delighted to read that the Residential Property Surveyors Association has reported no drop in the instruction levels for property surveys during August, despite all the pessimistic forecasts about a slowdown in the property market.Demand for Home Condition Surveys and Building Surveys have remained at high levels during the month. Alan Milstein, Chairman of this not-for-profit organisation, says: Even the traditionally slow holiday period hasn۪t dampened demand, and many members report a higher than average level of enquiries. He added that contrary to expectations, a higher proportion of buyers are choosing more costly options over basic surveys. The continued growth in the residential property market reported by the RPSA certainly chimes with our own experience. Over the summer our properties in Westminster, London Bridge, Kennington& and the surrounding areas have been snapped up by homebuyers and investors and, in light of growing evidence from RPSA and other trusted sources, we're confident that we can look forward to an even busier September.

Members of the Residential Property Surveyors Association say there has been no drop-off in instruction levels during August, confounding pessimists who anticipated Brexit would lead to a slowdown in the market.
