What’s On This Weekend: Jean Paul Gaultier: Fashion Freak Show, Tree & What To Look For In The Garden

Pimlico Road Farmers’ Market in Pimlico

Every Saturday in the leafy Orange Square in Pimlico, also known as Mozart Square, there is a lovely weekly farmers’ market. With plenty of space to sit around and soak up the atmosphere on a sunny day, this is also the perfect spot to buy fresh fruits, juices, fresh pasta, free range eggs, lots of quality meat and poultry and fresh fish and shellfish. The smell of artisan breads and cheeses is also quite hard to miss. This particular farmers’ market has previously won the Love London Awards and for good reason. This is a great way to spend your Saturday morning and it is open from 9am to 1pm. Not too far from our Westminster office and are interested in looking at properties to rent or properties to buy in the area, feel free to drop in and say hello to our team who would be happy to help.

Getting to know…Footloose Musical in Southwark

One of the world’s most iconic musicals, Footloose is a rockin’ and a rollin’ marathon of nostalgia, joy and youthfully exuberant dancing. Featuring classic songs such as “Let’s Heat It For The Boy”, “Holding Out For A Hero” and the radio favourite “Footloose!”. Presented by the British Theatre Academy at Southwark Playhouse, Getting to Know…Footloose is an abridged version of Footloose especially designed for performance by young people. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at this new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town’s youth that he cannot command in his own home. It falls on Ren to help the adults realise the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

Tree Play in Waterloo

The Young Vic in Waterloo is the playing home to Idris Elba and Kwame Kwei-Armah’s electrifying new blend of drama, music and dance that follows one man’s journey into the heart and soul of contemporary South Africa – with the audience at the centre of the action. It’s just 12 hours from London to his parents’ homeland, but to Kaelo (Alfred Enoch), South Africa is another world. When a family tragedy finally forces him to visit for the first time, Kaelo must confront hidden histories and right the wrongs of the past. Directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, with music inspired by Elba’s album ‘mi Mandela’, Tree is an exhilarating show about identity, family and belonging, seen through the eyes of one man on the toughest journey of his life.
